Let me preface this comment by saying I've never really paid attention to tennis headlines (aside from a few match recaps here and there and the off-court stories) so this could be a totally obvious answer, when did "rolled" bleed into the tennis recap vocab?

Seriously, "rolled" that's pretty street.

Not sure. I'd guess relatively recently, because I mentally remarked at that headline myself.

I assume that what you meant to say above was "[...]I've never really paid attention to tennis headlines (aside from YOUR AWESOME COMMENTARY AND NEWS FLASHES RIGHT HERE ON DYBIP.TYPEPAD.COM) so [...]"

Just sayin'.

In fact---LOL! When I said:

Also rolled: "Amelie Mauresmo,"

I must have had some kind of brain malfunction, because I mean to put the warning quotes around "rolled," not the player's name. The quotation marks around her name don't make any sense whatsoever, hehehe. "IF that's her REAL NAME!" Lolz.

Yes, very true. I meant tennis headlines as they appear on sport and news websites (SI.com, cnn.com, etc).

Obviously this lack of attention paid to tennis headlines on sport and news websites speaks to the fact that I get my tennis news from a more reputable source, namely dybip.typepad.com!

Speaking of parentheses around names, a few months ago I was freaking out because oh-my-god-4-pregnancy-tests-can't-be wrong and no clinic in Portland would see me until I was 7-8 weeks pregnant and since I had no idea when my last period was I had no idea when I was 7-8 weeks pregnant - that's why I need to see a midwife, dammit - I finally got a midwife at a very respectable clinic to let me have an appointment. In addition to doing a COMPLETE drug screening that I wasn't aware of, they put parenthesis around my husband's name where it asked for the father. They were thinking that this poor smuck thinks his wife is faithful and carrying her baby baby, but we're not willing to commit to that lie. I found this out when the doc I finally chose got my records and told me that I was clean for cocaine, meth, blah, blah, blah and that's she is willing to believe me that my spouse is the father.

I'm questioning whether this is really categorized as a comment.

Dude - I don't know how that got posted twice. It wasn't that good the first time around. Sorry.
